Australia has seen yet another season of extreme weather events as the Earth’s climate continues to change. This island nation will be seen as a thermometer for the rest of the world as one of the places most likely to be adversely affected by climate change. Not only has Australia been subjected to intense fire events over the past few years, but has just recently seen record flooding on the Eastern side of Australia. Which just happens to be its most populous.
What we are seeing are more extreme areas starting to become uninhabitable. Where exactly do Australians retreat to away from climate change? With polar ice caps and glaciers worldwide melting at an alarming rate there will naturally be more moisture to be spread around the Earth. That means big climate events will become more frequent, as Australia has seen in 2022 with multiple “east coast lows” bringing in “rain bombs” that even destroyed a large part of the town of Lismore.
It would not be too much of a stretch to compare Australia’s recent weather events to something from the bible, and those living through these fires and floods have all described them as “apocalyptic”. As these events become increasingly extreme it will become increasingly expensive to repair the damage. This seems to be just God’s way of repaying Australia for contributing so much to global carbon emissions from their fossil fuel exports.
Is God at war with Australia? It certainly feels that way. Especially with events like the 2019 bushfires still fresh in Australia’s memory.
A bible quote to end this apocalyptic post on:
“Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen.Revelation 1:7
